International Women’s Day 2018

On 8th March 2018, WDFP organized International Women’s Day with UN theme of “Press for Progress” at Maripur Center. Ms. Sabiha Shah, Mr. Zafar Iqbal, BBSYDP team Mr. Faisal Ansari and Mr. Umair Zuberi, Principal of Javed Bharia Riffat Sultana of and WDFP team attended the program. Ms. Sabiha Shah focused on the discrimination which women are facing in different areas of country and she motivated them to stop this discrimination and raise your voice against it. In societies male child is regarded more valuable to the family and girls are often denied the right of life, right of education and denied for other rights. They are forced to stay at home and help in domestic chores. She motivated them by speech and tried to make them think in a positive way in life.

Ms. Riffat Sultana shared her views regarding International Women’s Day. DastanGoi students of Maripur performed role play on girl’s discrimination and played Pushto Documentary on Women’s role in society and summarized by Zafar Iqbal.

Certificates were distributed among the girls of BBSYDP by dignitaries. In the end cake cutting ceremony of IWD was celebrated and event was hosted by Nazia Baloch.
