Ladies Dhabba
Maripur is an underprivileged area where women have no such space to spend some time with each other and share their issues. In 2016, WDFP took initiative with support of DAI to come up with an idea named Ladies Dhaba. Ladies Dhaba is a safe space for those women who are not allowed to go anywhere and even cannot enjoy their life as a free bird.
Women are the basic constituent of their family when they feel calm then the people surrounded
by them also feel comfortable.
Women have also right to spend their life freely like men do; they
can also go out in a fresh air and enjoy their time. The main purpose of this idea was to bring -
*peace in communities and to end the feeling of loneliness which mostly women feel at their
homes. This concept resulted as a great impact on their minds and now women love this place.
The best part of this place is that it is not only a resting space but women also buy food items, sit
together, relax, talk and play games just as their man counterparts do in the same locality at a
nearby pathan ka dhaba. Dhaba has also captured great attention of media for coverage and now,
it is the desire of community women who are engaged in managing Ladies Dhaba that it must be
expanded in different places of Sindh as well
